Deep Sky Images

These are deep-sky images taken in the late 1990's using our then newly acquired SBIG ST-6 CCD camera, through our 16" telescope.

MESSIER OBJECTS:

M1 (NGC 1952) is the Crab Nebula in Taurus R.A. 05h 34.5m dec. +22: 01m Magnitude 8.4 The Crab Nebula is the remnant of a supernova (1054 A.D.)

M27 - 30 second exposure

M51 is a spiral galaxy in Canis Venatici 225 second exposure

M82 is a galaxy in Ursa Major. 90 second exposure

M101 - 225 second exposure

M104 - 30 second exposure

NGC OBJECTS:

NGC 253 in Sculptor is one of the largest nearby galaxies R.A. 00h 47m dec. 25° 17m mag. 7.1. This is a 30 second ST-6 CCD exposure of NGC 253

NGC 2041 - 165 second exposure

NGC 2903 is a spiral galaxy in Leo R.A. 09h 32m dec. 21° 30m - mag. 8.93. This is a 5 minute ST-6 CCD exposure of NGC 2903

NGC 4565 - 30 second exposure
